What is up! I hope you all have missed me these past two weeks! I apologize for not updating regularly. The past couple of weeks have just been really demanding and crazy.

With that being said, I honestly don’t know how many miles I’ve ran over the past two weeks, but I’m betting it’s somewhere around 95 miles. My bike is also in the shop right now, so I haven’t been biking at all. I guess all of those miles I put on it finally caught up because my tire blew out from being worn down too much.

Oops.

My training has been good. I’ve had a few ups and downs with workouts which, I’ll admit, lowered my confidence in my running abilities. Despite that, I’ve still managed to power through.

Two Saturdays ago, I ran a 1.5 mile time-trial at the track, and finished in 7:33. Last year, my best time was 7:57, and that was at the end of the season. I hit the mile at 4:58, and just kept going from there, though I will admit I did start to slow down a bit.

Last Saturday was even better! I ran a two mile time trial on the track, and ran a HUGE PR of 10:22. I never thought of myself at a two-miler, since I didn’t/don’t know how to run it, and I’ve only ran it once in my life, which was the 3,200 at the UNF Spring Break Invite earlier this year.

I finished last in 11:03 that race.

With this big PR, I’m not only more eager to run under 17, but under 10 as well. Let’s face it, with all of my PRs, which aren’t great but fairly decent, 11:03 doesn’t look that impressive to college coaches.

Speaking of coaches, I’ve emailed a few more coaches, including coaches from USF, USC Upstate, UF, and UNF.

I’ve only gotten an email back from the coach at UNF who seemed quite interested. I got one from UF, but it wasn’t exactly from Coach Holloway, and it was just telling me to fill out a recruiting form.

Yesterday however, I got a letter from Eastern Michigan asking me to fill out a questionnaire for them, so I’ll do that, as well as email the coach.

More important news, I’ve registered to take the ACT on September 12, so I’m really looking forward to doing well on that.
